Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER)GuideBER Retail Stores

The BER Shopping Facilities

Berlin Brandenburg Airport has numerous retail stores, guaranteeing a comprehensive and satisfying shopping experience for its passengers. Luxurious brands, fashion designers, and casual shops are available, including international chains and local facilities. Fashion, accessories, electronics, toys, souvenirs, watches, press, and books are all part of the diverse BER shopping scene, which also offers travel essentials, beauty products, and pharmaceutical items. Terminal 1 is the terminal building providing the vast majority of retail stores, with its Market Place — the central shopping area — located just behind the security screening. On the other hand, T2 offers adequate alternatives, even though significantly fewer than T1. Both terminals feature shops in their pre-security and post-security zones.

The T1 Shopping Facilities

Terminal 1 is the terminal handling the majority of flights departing and arriving at Berlin Airport. Spreading over several levels, it is a large terminal building offering passengers numerous services and amenities while housing various shopping facilities. Most shops can be found airside, at the central Market Place, located just behind the security screening and featuring 25 retail stores. A food court and the airport’s gallery also lie adjacent to the Market Place, allowing travelers to conveniently explore the terminal’s amenities. Moreover, several retail stores are also situated landside.

The T2’s Facilities

Terminal 2 is a smaller unit, handling low-cost flights, primarily operated by Ryanair, Wizz Air, and Vueling Airlines. As a result, it doesn’t offer as many shopping options as terminal 1. Still, it does provide some amenities to meet passengers’ needs, from souvenirs and toys to stores offering beauty products, perfumes, and travel essentials.

Explicitly, if you’re flying from terminal 2 or accompanying passengers departing from T2, you’ll find the following landside and airside shopping facilities:

Press - Souvenirs - Gadgets
  • express: Check-in area (Level 0, Landside) – Open from 03:00 am to 00:00 pm
  • WHSmith & Inmotion: Departures, Plaza (Level E1, Airside) – Open from 04:00 am to 10:00 pm

The Duty-Free Facilities

Heinemann Duty Free & Travel Value offers BER passengers a wide variety of products at reduced prices, with taxes excluded. As expected, the duty-free facilities in the Schengen area provide less tempting deals, while travelers to non-Schengen destinations enjoy really discounted fares, saving on duties and taxes. The duty-free stores’ design has been strongly influenced by local style and history, “borrowing” elements from the Berlin Wall and trying to convey the Berliner Luft (Berlin Air, which is also the name of a local liqueur).

Don’t you have enough time at the airport? Shop online via the Heinemann Duty Free webpage.

There are four duty-free facilities within Berlin Airport. In detail, terminal 1 houses three of them, while another duty-free store is located in the airside part of terminal 2.
