Useful Information and Tips about the New Airport in Berlin

General Airport Information

The new Berlin Airport, Brandenburg Airport, finally opened at the end of October 2020 after almost 15 years of construction! The nowadays single airport of the German capital has come to replace the 3 old Berlin Airports, Tegel, Tempelhof, and Schönefeld (which is actually still in use as part of Brandenburg Airport, renamed as terminal 5). The BER Airport is expected to become one of the busiest and most important airports not only in Germany and Europe but worldwide. Having three terminal buildings for the moment, Brandenburg-Berlin Airport will have two more shortly. All in all, BER Airport is a promising airport and a safe and efficient aviation hub for its passengers.

Berlin Brandenburg Airport has 3 terminals for the time being. Terminal 1 is the largest airport terminal and the most striking one, while terminal 2 serves low-cost airlines. On the other hand, the terminal’s 5 IntercityHotel also provides top-rated services, from cozy and modern rooms to fine dining options, conference rooms, and even a free transportation pass! Finally, there are plenty of other lodging alternatives near the airport but also in Berlin city center.

More than 10.000 parking spots await you at the new Berlin Airport. Open parking lots and modern car parks are available both at terminals 1 and 2 and terminal 5. Specially marked spots for people with reduced mobility, parking zones for families and women, baggage carts, spaces with electric charge points, and more. All in all, the new Berlin Airport offers top-rated and reliable parking services at reasonable prices.
