General Airport Information

The new Berlin Airport, Brandenburg Airport, finally opened at the end of October 2020 after almost 15 years of construction! The nowadays single airport of the German capital has come to replace the 3 old Berlin Airports, Tegel, Tempelhof, and Schönefeld (which is actually still in use as part of Brandenburg Airport, renamed as terminal 5). The BER Airport is expected to become one of the busiest and most important airports not only in Germany and Europe but worldwide. Having three terminal buildings for the moment, Brandenburg-Berlin Airport will have two more shortly. All in all, BER Airport is a promising airport and a safe and efficient aviation hub for its passengers.

Terminals

Berlin Brandenburg Airport has 3 terminals for the time being. Terminal 1 is the largest airport terminal and the most striking one, while terminal 2 serves low-cost airlines. Terminal 5, the old Schönefeld Airport, is 10 minutes away from terminals 1 and 2 and used to handle local and international flights. Nowadays, it is currently closed.
