Lounges at Berlin Airport
Berlin Airport features lounge facilities for passengers who want to relax, refresh, or even work before their flight. Elegantly designed and cozy, the lounges offer various amenities and a calm ambiance in contrast to the terminal’s hustle and bustle. However, all lounges are located in terminal 1, the terminal building that handles most flights arriving and departing from BER Airport. Fortunately, terminal 2—lying within a short walking distance from T1’s premises—is also connected to T1 airside. In fact, although passengers must check in at their departing terminal, they can go through security at either terminal. Therefore, T2 passengers also have access to some of the BER Airport lounges.
BER Lounge Tempelhof
BER Lounge Tempelhof — one of the business lounges at Berlin Airport — is named after the former Tempelhof Airport, which ceased operations following the opening of Berlin Brandenburg Airport. It can be found on the Departures level of terminal 1 (Level E1), near Gate A20. The lounge is located airside and is accessible only from the Schengen area on the first floor of terminal 1, as well as from T2. Passport control is situated right in front of the lounge, dedicated exclusively to lounge’s customers, while Gates A17-20 are also nearby. Lounge’s guests can reach all gates from its facilities.
The lounge is modern and comfortable, featuring various types of seating, workstations, and shower facilities. Moreover, it offers a buffet with cold and hot dishes, along with a selection of drinks. Overall, its amenities are spacious, while passengers generally appreciate the floor-to-ceiling windows, which provide excellent views of the southern runway.
The lounge is open from 05:00 am to 09:30 pm and has a maximum stay limit of 3 hours. Thus, it can be used for up to 3 hours. Access to the BER Lounge Tempelhof is available for a 48€/48$ fee. Children younger than 3 can enter the lounge free of charge. Bookings can be made on the spot or online in advance. Prior reservations are usually recommended to ensure availability. Additionally, passengers can enter the lounge free of charge if they are part of its partners’ bonus program. In detail, these partners include:

Berlin Lounge Tegel
Berlin Lounge Tegel can also be found in terminal 1, lying in its northern part. It is located near Gate B17. It is also accessible by passengers departing from terminal 2, since the two terminals are connected airside. In that case, travelers must allow enough time to transfer between terminals, located a 5-10-minute walk from each other. Additionally, passengers with flights from non-Schengen gates must pass through passport control after leaving the lounge. Therefore, they should allow extra time to reach their departure gate.
BER Lounge Tegel is a tribute to the former Tegel Airport. In fact, it features many decorative elements reminiscent of the once-bustling Tegel Airport, which closed during the construction of the new Berlin Airport. Bright, cozy, and contemporary-decorated, it is an accessible facility, offering many amenities, including Wi-Fi, comfortable seating, workstations, conference rooms, and shower facilities. Please note that shower amenities are available, but for a fee. The lounge’s guests can also enjoy a lavish buffet. Cold and hot dishes are served, along with various drinking options. The lounge also offers TVs, flight information screens, and a variety of magazines and newspapers. A quiet area is available as well for passengers who want to escape terminal noise.
The lounge facility operates from 05:00 am to 09:00 pm and is available up to 3.5 hours before the passenger’s flight. It can be accessed by all passengers, provided they pay the entrance fee. If you plan to visit the BER Lounge Tegel, you’ll need to pay 36€/36$. Children up to 3 years old aren’t charged entrance fees. Payments are accepted via debit and credit cards. Online bookings are also an option, ideal for travelers who want to guarantee their lounge access. Additionally, status customers of the lounge’s partners have access to the lounge without charge.

A rich buffet selection is available, along with a self-service bar. The lounge is also equipped with TVs and offers Wi-Fi, local and international newspapers, and books by its partner, the teNeues publishing house. Working spaces can be found within its premises, as well as lockers and a smoking room. The lounge is open from 05:00 am to 08:45 pm, and can be accessed only by T1 passengers departing for a Schengen destination on a flight operated by Lufthansa Group. Specifically, first-class passengers flying on a Lufthansa, Swiss flight, or a Star Alliance member airline, business-class passengers, HON Circle members, senators, frequent travelers, and Star Alliance Gold members can use the lounge facility.
Both lounge facilities are located near Gate B20. While Gate B20 can be found on T1’s Level 1, the lounges are actually located on Level 2. Therefore, travelers must use the lifts or the stairs near Gate B20 to reach the lounges on Level 2. Children under two have free access when accompanied by an eligible adult. Moreover, it offers access to the luxurious VIP Lounge Zeitgeist, located on the airside part of the T1’s Ground level. Premium dishes and drinks are served, and guests can use the cigar lounge area as well. Overall, the lounge offers the most lavish amenities at BER Airport, featuring upscale facilities and providing top-quality services. Two suites are also available, for up to 4 travelers. They are equipped with minibars and have private bathrooms with showers. Workstations can also be found. It comes as no surprise that the VIP Service is a pricey option, costing around 500€/500$ per passenger. Kids younger than 13 are entitled to discounted fares.
Our Tip: The service is available for travelers departing from both terminals. However, it doesn’t apply to passengers flying with Ryanair and Luxair.
